Prof. Dr. Sevcan Aydın European Union Erasmus+ KA220 You Project

The Science of Wellbeing for Youth project, led by Professor Dr. Sevcan AYDIN from the Biology Department of our faculty, and developed in collaboration with Italy, Portugal, and North Macedonia, has been awarded support for its €250.000,00 budget under the European Union ERASMUS+ KA220 YOU program. Within the scope of the accepted project titled ‘The Science of Wellbeing for Youth’, the aim is to contribute to improving the mental health of young people who experience anxiety and depression due to various environmental and global issues such as the Covid-19 pandemic and climate change crisis. By bringing together young people from different backgrounds, the project will explore art and physical activities intertwined with nature to enhance their overall wellbeing. Breath exercises and outdoor activities will support the psychological development of participants, while workshops on fermented food and beverages will focus on promoting gut-brain health. This project will align with the European Union’s priority of improving the mental health of young individuals.
